Hey, I’m Tyler Brooks — 31 years old, born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I’ve been a diehard Cowboys fan since I could walk (yes, even through the heartbreaks). I first got into iGaming after hitting an insane 8-leg parlay that turned five bucks into two grand. Been hooked ever since. When I’m not sweating a game or a bet, you’ll usually find me watching or playing sports, gaming with friends, or diving into the latest in the stock market and crypto space. Always chasing that next win, whether it's on the field, the screen, or the charts.

Crackdown on Illegal Gambling: Slot Machines Seized in Taranto and Catanzaro

Italian authorities have intensified their efforts to combat illegal and irregular gambling activities, leading to the seizure of multiple slot machines in separate operations in Taranto and Catanzaro.

    Taranto: Financial Police Action

The Financial Police Unit and the Taranto Group of the Guardia di Finanza conducted a series of interventions targeting recreational clubs, gaming halls, and bars in Taranto. These operations resulted in the seizure of six slot machines from two recreational clubs. The machines were not connected to the online network of the Customs and Monopolies Agency. Authorities also confiscated cash believed to be profits from illegal gambling.

Two individuals responsible for the illegal activities have been reported to the relevant authorities.

    Tax Investigations Underway

Further tax investigations are ongoing to determine whether the owners of the inspected clubs have properly paid the single tax levy to the Financial Administration. This tax is calculated based on the amounts “played” and recorded on the machines’ counters.

    Catanzaro: Tampered Machines Discovered

In a similar operation in Catanzaro, police officers from the Administrative Police Squad of the PAS Division, in collaboration with agents from the Customs and Monopolies Agency, discovered four slot machines inside a public establishment. These machines had been tampered with to facilitate gambling and were not connected to the Adm online network.

According to a statement from the Police Headquarters, the manager of the establishment has been reported to the judicial authority for gambling and computer fraud offenses.

    Penal and Administrative Consequences

The seized machines are now under penal seizure and at the disposal of the competent judicial authority. The penal procedure is currently in the preliminary investigation phase. The transgressor also faces several administrative violations.
