Liam Kinsella

Hi, I’m Liam Kinsella, a 38-year-old Irishman with a lifelong love for sport and a career shaped by the fast-moving world of iGaming. I’ve spent the majority of my professional life in the industry, working across everything from operations and customer experience to product and innovation. My passion for iGaming was sparked when I was a teenager after attending my first race night at Dundalk Stadium. I’ll never forget the atmosphere, the intensity, and the connection people had to the sport. It was electric. That night opened my eyes to a world where entertainment, competition, and community all came together. Since then, I’ve worked with some fantastic teams and brands, helping to create engaging experiences that bring that same thrill to players around the globe. Outside of work, I’m a big sports fan. Rugby, football, racing, even a bit of darts. I’ve also got a soft spot for gardening; there’s something therapeutic about switching off and spending a few hours with the plants. When I’m not outdoors, I’m usually reading - anything from sports biographies to thrillers. I’m proud to be part of the global tech and gaming space, and I’m always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of what iGaming can offer.

Pixbet Secures Definitive License to Operate in Brazil Until 2030

Pixbet Soluções Tecnológicas has been granted a definitive license to operate sports betting and online games in Brazil until January 5, 2030. This authorization, issued by the SPA (Secretary of Prizes and Betting), covers Pixbet’s three brands: Pixbet, FlaBet, and Bet da Sorte.

The news follows a brief suspension of Pixbet’s provisional authorization last week due to a delay in delivering certificates. However, a preliminary injunction was granted by the Federal Court on Friday, as all necessary documents had been submitted, albeit with one arriving late.

FlaBet, a Pixbet brand, is notably the master sponsor of Flamengo, a major Brazilian soccer club, through a R$470 million (US$80 million) contract. The preliminary injunction was crucial, allowing Flamengo to debut their new jersey, featuring the FlaBet logo, in a game against Grêmio in the Brazilian Championship. The jersey had already made its first appearance in an international match against Central Córdoba of Argentina, during the group stage of the Libertadores tournament.

Ordinance 806, issued by the SPA, officially authorizes Pixbet to operate in Brazil. This federal license complements Pixbet’s existing state-level authorizations in Paraná and Rio de Janeiro, which permit the local exploration of sports betting and online gaming.

Key Details of Ordinance 806

The ordinance, dated April 14, 2025, formally authorizes PIXBET SOLUÇÕES TECNOLÓGICAS LTDA (CNPJ: 40.633.348/0001-30) to explore fixed-odds lottery betting. Here’s a summary:

  • Corporate Name: PIXBET SOLUÇÕES TECNOLÓGICAS LTDA
  • CNPJ: 40.633.348/0001-30
  • Brands: PIXBET, FLABET, and BET DA SORTE
  • Segments: Sports theme and online games
  • Modalities: Physical and virtual
  • Validity: Until January 5, 2030

The authorization is based on Laws No. 13,756 of December 12, 2018, and No. 14,790 of December 29, 2023, as well as Ordinances issued by the Prizes and Betting Secretariat.

Regis Anderson Dudena, the Secretary of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance, signed the ordinance, which took effect immediately upon publication.
